COLCA CANYON TREK
Duration: 02 DAYS / 01 NIGHTS
Day 01 Arequipa – Cabanaconde – Sangalle
Pick up at your hotel from 3:00 am to 3:30 am to go to Colca Canyon, after about 4 hours we’ll arrive to the valley’s main town, Chivay, where we’ll make a short stop to have breakfast, soon we will continue our jurney to later arrive to Cabanaconde’s town from there we’ll start our descend toward Colca canyon base during this down forward trek we’d be able to enjoy spectacular sights, then we’ll cross a bridge to arrive to a town called San Juan de Chuccho, there will take a rest and have lunch surrounded by the beauty of the nearby mountains. After eating at this local tonw’s restaurant we’ll continue our jurney toward Cosnihua which is about an hour away from a slope trekking path, this will turn into a more flat path toward Malata’s town and then we’ll finish our journey at Sangalle (oasis) a pretty place between the canon’s mountains. There you’d be able to enjoy this place refreshing pools.
We’ll have dinner and stay overnight at the basic type cabins.
Day 02 Sangalle – Cabanaconde – Chivay – Arequipa
At 4:30 am we’ll begin our ascend toward a zigzag and steep path and after about 3 hours we’ll have the satisfaction to finish this beautiful trek.
We’ll have breakfast at a local restaurant to later take our transportation toward Cruz del Condor’s observatory. There we have one of the most beautiful sights of Colca canyon, there we could also have the experience of watching a very impressive the condor’s flight, we’ll return to Chivay and optionally we could visit the thermal baths of Calera.
We’ll have lunch and return to Arequipa, arriving there between 5 and 6:00 pm.
