ITINERARY

Reception at 14:00 hrs. in the city of Arequipa. We’ll start our city tour visiting la “Plaza de Armas” one Peruvian most beautiful building to see.  This cathedral was built on volcanic stones called “sillar” (pronounced as see-yar’) This is an example of the XIX century Peruvian architecture in which many of the artifacts, ornaments, pictures, etc.  are filled with gold and silver.  “La Iglesia de la Compañía” An ancient Jesuit temple perhaps the most important in Arequipa because of its history and tradition, it has beautiful frontage with spiral carving walls, laurel crowns, flowers, birds, etc. Afterwards we’ll visit “Santa Catalina’s Convent”.  A “small city”, a XVII century sight opens to the public since 1970 after 400 years of cloister living. As a visitor you are transported 400 years into the past. You’ll be able to transit to spacious patios, gardens, go into the kitchen and quarters where slaves once lived and washing sink made of stone. At 1700 hrs.

We’ll return back to the hotel.
